Director, Martin B. Papay Jr. took his oath as a new professional teacher on
June 9, 2013 in Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City, Philippines. The PRC Chairman,
Atty. Teresita R. Manzala was the guest of speaker. On the same day, the
examination ratings and PRC licenses were distributed to the new professional
teachers. Mr. Papay is well known as an adult educator and trainer but by successfully
passing the Licensure Examination for Teachers on March 10, 2013 in Manila,
Philippines; he is now qualified to teach students in Elementary and Secondary.

MIS joined the 11th conference of Philippine Schools Overseas
The Inter-Agency Committee on
Philippine Schools Overseas (IACPSO) conducted the 11th Conference of
Philippine Schools Overseas. This year’s theme was, “The K to 12 Challenge- Enhancing
our Competitive Advantage.” The conference aimed to arm Filipino
educational institutions overseas using the Filipino curriculum with the latest trends
in the K to 12 as they also roll out the said curriculum with the end view of
producing globally competitive graduates.
Mr. Francis Lan-nok and Miss Czarina Catherine Mateo represented Maharlika
International School in East Timor on this event which was held on May 15-17,
2013 at the AIM Conference Center, Makati City, Philippines. This conference was
also attended by seventy-two other representatives from 29 Philippine Schools
in China, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Qatar, and United Arab
Emirates. An upcoming and newly-established school in Thailand also attended as
an observer and volunteered to host the 12th conference of
Philippine Schools Overseas next year.
MIS Founder & Executive Director passed the March 2013 Licensure Examination for Teachers
The Professional Regulation
Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) announced on
April 17, 2013 that 10,310 elementary teachers out of 37,117 examinees (27.78%)
and 15,223 secondary teachers out of 38,433 examinees (39.61%) successfully
passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (L.E.T.) given last March 10,
2013 in 14 testing centers all over the Philippines and Hong Kong.

MIS Founder & Executive
Director, Martin Banaken Papay Jr. is one of the successful examinees for the
Secondary Level major in Mathematics. He took his Certificate in Teaching
Profession (CTP) for 18 units at the Philippine Women's University in Manila,
Philippines through online studies from September 2011 to April 2012 that qualified
him to take the said examination. He is currently pursuing his second Master's
Degree in Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management at his
very own Alma Mater, the University of the Cordilleras. He already finished 18
academic units for the last two consecutive trimesters of S.Y. 2012-2013.

Building the Nation's Future Leaders through Education
Maharlika International School held
its 5th Graduation & Recognition Program on March 30, 2013 in
MIS Covered Court with the theme "Building the Nation's Future Leaders through Education". Dr. Domingos De Deus Maia, the Director General for
Curriculum Development and Innovation of the Ministry of Education of the Democratic
Republic of Timor-Leste (RDTL) was the Guest of Speaker for the second time. This was the third graduation and Recognition Program that a representative from the Ministry of Education of RDTL graced this momentous occasion. Twenty four (24) Preparatory and six (6) Elementary
students received their Diploma upon their confirmation as graduates by the
Founder & Executive Director. During the said occasion, students who
excelled in their class were awarded with Medals, Ribbons and Certificate of
Recognition and Achievement.
